Chan’s Restaurant — History of a Landmark

This is a story about the Chan’s Restaurant. It’s an old and unique building that is still running smoothly here today with our so call low economy state. It’s still serving food from the 1955 to this very day with the same traditions, and a dash of new items too. At the restaurant you can order Chinese or American food. The food here is made from scratch every day, so it is the fresh to serve to the customer to eat. This place is running with the new generation of the Chan’s Family, and still including their grandparents still at work. The restaurant is still located at

359 G Street

, Arcata.

In the past sometime ago there used to be a Chan’s restaurant in Fortuna and Arcata. A part of the family worked in the Fortuna restaurant and my grandparents worked at the Arcata one. Later in time the Fortuna restaurant was sold, so the other half of the family moved to Arcata to work there.
