College scholarships typically go to students with enviable academic accolades, or

a diverse palate of extracurricular activities, or demonstrated financial need.
They go to teens who write compelling personal essays, or have disadvantaged

backgrounds, or are members of a particular organization or ethnic group. But some

scholarships don’t have any of these restrictions – they are awarded every year

via a completely random lottery system, with no strings attached and only a

I, too, frequently fear class cancellations. It is really hard to focus on and work on getting a degree when you are always faced with the possibility that the school mightn’t even offer the classes that you need to graduate. What is a student supposed to do? Pick up and move? Sadly, such a decision could not easily be made. People have families and lives and can’t always go where the classes are. Education is important but it is more important to have education that is accessible.
