Homeless Visits — A secular opinion

Although I’m sure the homeless project began with good intentions, I think it was highly inappropriate to feature religious behavior in a school environment by showing the video. It was inappropriate from the very beginning to do a project in correlation with a church because it excluded a large number of people from participating, including myself. If it wasn’t for the ministry spewing their religion onto others (a practice I despise with passion), then perhaps I would’ve participated in the event. Why do these people have to believe they are saving souls for Christ Almighty in order to hand out breakfast and fresh socks to those in need, instead of simply doing it because it’s the right thing to do? I was very disappointed with this segment of class because it was handled without consideration for people with different views.
